We've stopped hosting CivicSpace sites for free, after providing free sites to hundreds of grassroots organizations for almost 2 years.

What's next for CivicSpace?

First it was DeanSpace, then it was CivicSpace, now it's back to YouSpace?  We've licensed the code we used to CivicSpaceOnDemand under the AGPL license so that anyone who wants to run their own CivicSpaceOnDemand can do so easily using Amazon Web Services.  If you would like to host more than 50 sites, with automated site creation and management you can take our script and automatically set up an install the CivicSpaceOnDemand software for your own organization.

What are the CivicSpace folks doing?  We got popular.  You might have heard of Drupal ;-)  Most of us are still very active and helping to lead the Drupal project expanding open sources reach beyond just grassroots organizations to NPO, Education, News organizations, media companies, and now enterprises.

Is this a Drupal site? No. It's just a simple splash page while we focus on getting our first users to set up CivicSpaceOnDemand on their own Amazon Web Services servers.  Bear with us. Right tool for the job, and all that.

Cheers,

Kieran
